Why should I get massages?
Massage Therapy is used for the relief of stress, to promote emotional and physical relaxation, and/or to relieve pain in the soft tissues of the body due to injury or accumulation of environmental, chemical, and physical toxins. Massages assist in cleansing the soft tissues of those toxins and promote better muscle health.
What does massage do?
Through the manipulations of soft tissue and tendons, massage releases toxins, such as lactic acid, out of the muscles. When the toxic, sore muscles are massaged, you can feel better.
What do I have to do to get a massage?
Register on this website in the link provided. You will give contact information and complete a medical history form. This will give me an understanding of what type of massage is needed for your circumstance. Your information is protected under the HIPPA requirements and is confidential. Next, click on the appointment link and choose a day and a time that’s convenient for you. You will then be set a confirmation via text and/or email.
What happens when I get to the appointment?
You will want to wear comfortable clothing to your session. Arrive to your first appointment 10-15 minutes early. I will be greet you at the front door and taken to a private space. There will be, in the room, a heated massage table, a place for your personal items, soothing music, and comfortable lighting.
I will go over your medical history with you and may ask further questions. You will also be able to address your questions or concerns. I will then leave the room and give you your privacy. You will undress to your comfort level and get under the sheets on the table. I will knock on the door, you will give me permission to enter the room, and your session will begin. You only need to breathe, relax, and enjoy your massage.
No private parts are exposed or massaged, but areas, such as the buttocks and low back may need to be massaged, especially if you suffer from sciatica or from low back pain. Both your front and back are completed in the session.
You may have an experience of some kind of emotion that has been stored in your muscles or your mind while on the table. This can manifest in a sigh, muscle twitching, or even tears. This is a common experience and can be a very beneficial release. It’s also not unusual to have soreness for a few days, especially when you have had the pain for a very long time before you came into the session! A heating pad or a cold pack can help to relieve this. Toxins will be moving out of the muscles for a day or two, so it is highly recommended that you drink extra water afterwards.
Once your massage is completed, I will leave the room, you will dress, and the I will knock on the door. You will complete your payment for the session, discuss any thoughts or questions you may have, discuss making another appointment, and I will walk you to the door.

There will be intake forms and/or conduct a health interview with you. You will fill these forms out when you go on the website and make your appointment. Be sure to inform me if you have a health challenge that prevents you from lying on your back on a table, or if you have an area that is sensitive to touch.

A session begins with you fully clothed on a massage table, lying on your back. I will clear the energy in the room and ask you to take deep breaths to assist you to relax. I will begin the session, either sitting or standing at your head and will either lightly touch or place my hands on a series of locations on your head and your back during the session. If you have a concern about being touched, just let me know before your session. There is no pressure and placement of the hands is not intrusive or inappropriate.
Will I feel anything?
Most individuals come out of a session feeling more balanced, lighter, relaxed, and some actually fall asleep. Sometimes, there is a possible emotional release of tears, muscle twitching, heat in a particular area, and immediate release of stress, etc. The experience is subjective, and changeable from session to session.
